Orly polish review!! 'a spring colour'

Hello again!!

Today's post is going to be a nail polish review. I just had to spread the word about this product because its just so simply brilliant!

This is Orly's 'Terracotta' nail lacquer.

Terracotta isn't the name that I personally would have given this colour. Its just such a fun, bright spring colour not a deep burnt orange/red. Something more coral or even slightly pink (like it is in the bottle) would have suited it more.

Anyway, this product is outstanding. I own quite a lot of polish and this by far stands out the most to me, especially as we transition into spring.

   Good points:

  • Only needs one coat yet it is build-able for a more professional finish.
  • Dries in about a minute, so no smudging!
  • Highly pigmented
  • A good quantity

   Bad Points:
  • The brand 'Orly' Itself isn't the easiest to find in stores, but easier to find online
  • The price is rather high at around £7-£8 per bottle, however you get a whole 18ml (which compared to say Barry M polishes is a whole 8ml more!)

    Cute Early Christmas Gift!!

    Hey there!

This post is going to be about a gift I recently received as an early Christmas gift. I love it to pieces and highly recommend it if you're stuck for ideas this Christmas..

The gift is the 'Cath Kidston medium wash bag' Its a luxurious baby pink polka dot makeup/wash bag and perfect for any girls! The design is simple and cute and the quality is amazing!

For those of you that know of Cath Kidston you will know it isn't the cheapest of brands however with this brand the products are 'you get what you pay for'.

The waterproof, washable bag is thick material but not heavy. Its also spacious and there are a few pockets for everything. Here are some pictures...

The over view! This shows the baby pink colour and the overall style of the bag. It also shows the front and first pocket which is a zip pocket with the Cath Kidston logo zip most Cath Kidston bags have.

Here is a close up of the zip and as you can see the logo is red and simple yet stylish! The zips are thick also and good quality so you know they wont snap off.
I keep in here my lip products!

This is one of the inside pockets which is a mesh pocket and ideal if you need to see products. This way your not fishing around for ages trying to find something. I use this sometimes for my hair things but mainly skin care products such as moisturisers and creams.

The last pocket is a pocket with no seal such as a Velcro strip, zip or button popper. Its just an open pocket that's embedded with the original logo for the brand and a plain white colour. I use this for my hair things because it holds them away well.

I hope you enjoyed this post and ill write again soon! Comment your thoughts and follow ;)

    Creative Christmas Candle Holder!!

    Hello everyone!!

This post is only a little 'short how to' post to show you guys how to make this festive candle holder for the cosy winter months!!

    You will need:

    A glass
Glitter (various colours or just one)
    A brush
    PVA Glue

Okay so all I did was...

    1. Got the glass and used the brush to smear PVA glue all over the inside
    2. Next I took some red glitter and shook it on the inside, turning as I go to spread the glitter all around the cup
    3. Then I painted the outside with the PVA glue
    4. I then repeated the glitter step but with a silver glitter
    5. Make sure you shake it over the bin before you use it and give it time to dry (about an hour)
    This was my end result...

I hope you've enjoyed this post and you try it out also!! I will write again soon!! Comment your thoughts and follow if you like!!

    Christmas nails?!

    Hey everyone!!

So this will be a very short post just to show you all my Christmas nails of the week i suppose!!
    'Christmas trees'

These simple yet festive nails are cute and easy to do!!

    Products used:

Barry M 'raspberry' - all over the nails
Barry M 'black' - the Christmas tree triangle shape
Models Own 'disco inferno' - glitter topcoat as the tree decoration
Ebay gems for the star and to add a little bit of sparkle

The raspberry from Barry M nails varnish does come out a richer deeper red plum colour but the flash shows it to be brighter

So that's it! So easy to do and doesn't take too much time either!!

I hope you have enjoyed this little post and ill write soon!! Comment and follow if you like!

    Collection Concealer Review!!

    Hello everyone!!

Today's post is going to be a small review of 'Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer'.

I purchased this about a month ago in the shade '2 light' because number '1 fair' looked too light for me...

However after a while I realised that throughout the day the concealer did last but turned a darker colour and had a slightly orange tinge to it ...

SOO... I repurchased it in the shade '1 fair' and I Iove it!!

    Here are some pictures...
So yes the product is led of some tinsel and that's because  ITS CHRISTMAS TIME!!..

So this is the shade number and I love the colour on me because it brightens under the eye perfectly but also covers imperfections flawlessly so its basically perfect ;) Sometimes a lighter colour can work really well under the eyes but will really make blemishes more obvious as it draws attention to them but collections lasting perfection concealer does not!

This is the overall packaging which is simple and nice in my opinion...

It says it lasts 16 hours but I haven't been wearing it long enough to test that quite yet.

Lastly, the price for this is outstanding!! £4 for a concealer, my gosh that's good quality for good price right there ;)

I hope you have benefited from this review and ill write again soon!! comment, follow do as you like!

    Currently Loving!!

    Hello everyone!!

Its been a while, I know I am deeply apologetic ;) But I've been rather busy this past week and I'm uploading my weekly blog post now, today, on Sunday .. you get the picture..

So these are two or three of my current products I'm loving pairing together. I hope you enjoy!

Collection 'queen of hearts' lasting colour lipstick..
This colour is perfect for the festive time of year and so long lasting its unbelievable!!This was £2.99 I believe and incredibly cheap for the quality. Also its not so cheap that it doesn't have name - gosh I hate it when products are numbered not named, it takes away their 'quality' feel.

Swatches with flash (below) and without flash (above)

MUA Contour Liner in 'Auburn'. This colour was inspired by my MAC makeover on November First. The lady used raven eye pencil on me and it was a purple brown colour so I searched for it elsewhere as I was expensive due to being part of the Christmas collection and for only £1 :O I stumbled across this!! Its so smooth and rich in colour, blends well too. However If you rub your eyes whilst wearing this the colour will fade but if  not then it stays a good amount of time!!

MAC 'Mulch' eyeshadow!! Featured before this gorgeous warm toned brown goes so well with the MUA liner!! The pair are like two peas in a pod. Mulch helps to set the liner and prolongs the wear of it and also adds a sheeny/shimmer to the eye!!

Swatches here without flash (below) and with flash (above)

So those are a few of well paired products I've been loving lately!!

    New posts soon!!

Hope you have enjoyed this blog post and ill write again soon!! Please leave comments with thoughts and suggestions

Product Rave - Natural Collection Eyeshadows!!

    Hey there you guys!!

So yesterday I went out late night shopping and stumbled across natural collection and their eyeshadows looked rather inviting ;)

So there I was swatching when I saw two colours that stood out so much, even though there neutrals..?
I purchased them and wore them to school the next day..

Longest lasting high-street eyeshadows I've EVER tried!!!

    Here they are..

This is "Barley". A shimmery champagne colour that's perfect for all over the lid and inner corner highlights.

They are such pigmented shadows and I love the colour pay off as it doesn't mean I need to re-dip loads for more product. A dupe for MAC's "grain" just a tad lighter but only slightly ;)

This here is "Milk chocolate" and this is the perfect 'all over the lid' half subtle half smokey colour.  Its subtle yet noticeable?!

You can build it up lots and deepen the colour to make it smokey or just all on the lid and through the socket bone for a more neutral look its completely up to you!

Lastly we have some swatches and obviously on the right is milk chocolate and barley is on the left. This picture is without flash..just natural lights..

This picture is with flash and as you can see there isn't too much of a difference and Barley really stands out here as it gleams!!

Thanks for reading guys!! More posts soon as always!

Hope you enjoy and please do comment :)

    October Favourites!!

    Hello there viewers!

this post is going to be my recent favourites from the past month of October! There's quite a few things I have been loving, from lip products, to eyes and even brushes so read on for more!!

Oh and there will be swatches at the end and pictures for each favourite.

Revlon Lip Butter!! 'Berry Smoothie' is the perfect subtle red with moisturising qualities and rich in colour. very build-able and lasts long on your lips - this is the perfect hybrid between a lipstick and a lip balm. Definitely worth £8 at boots and superdrug!!

MAC Cremesheen lipstick in 'Shy Girl'. I recently had my makeup done at MAC and the mua used shy girl on me, instantly I fell in love with the peachy nude colour. The cremesheen formula is smooth and highly pigmented!!

MUA professional Eyes Primer! This is my first ever eye primer and I noticed the long-lasting difference instantly. My eyeshadow lasts a whole school day at least, so around 6-7 hours and Its unbelievably cheap at only £1! Not to sticky and great all around.

MAC eyeshadows!! Well as expected these eyeshadows are amazing!! such great pigmentation, very blend-able and such versatile colours. Brule is a great all over the lid colour with perhaps just some liner on the top lash line. Its also a great brow bone highlight.

Mulch! Mulch is a gorgeous warm toned brown with slight golden flecks. Its almost duo-chrome in different lights as it looks slightly matte in the dark yet sheeny and beautiful in the light. Can be worn as a crease colour, lower lash definer or even all of the lid for a brown smokey eye! These are my first two MAC eyeshadows are by gosh are the amazing!!

MAC Cremeblend blush in 'Something Special' When I has my makeup done at MAC this blush was the one she used on me! I love the deep rosy colour and the creme formula gives my skin a healthy glow as I use a matte foundation because I'm oily. The creme formula helps lift my skin a little!! Definitely worth money and such a long lasting product!!

Real Techniques 'Buffing Brush'. AMAZING. Taklon fibre bristles are soft and pick up product well. Densely packed and leaves your foundation looking flawless. Buffing in foundation, I find, makes you look polished off and glowing.

Coastal Scents '250' brush. This 'pro blending fluff brush' Distributes products evenly and blends like an angel. I bought this of Amazon and I have to say it was worth £5. I haven't yet washed it but I'm sure it will wash well. I plan to use the MAC
    brush cleanser on it soon!!

Finally the MAC '187' This duo-fibre genius is a densely packed brush from a collection years ago. I received it as a gift this year as my auntie had bought two but never used them. Its great from using with Cremeblend blushes from MAC and you can just push on the product without worry of removing makeup around it! Absolutely love this brush!

    Swatches!
(left to right) 'Berry Smoothie', 'Shy Girl', MUA Primer, 'Something Special', 'Brule', 'Mulch'.
    Above = with flash
    Below = Without flash

So that is all for my October favourites! My first favourites post so be sure if you read this to comment with ideas for more posts!!

I love these products and soon they will appear well loved!! Great fall/Autumn colours are such versatile products!!

Hope you have enjoyed this post!!new post soon!

    MAC Studio Finish Concealer Review!

    Hello everyone!

Today's post is going to be a review on the 'MAC Studio finish concealer'. I recently purchased this from Debenhams and I felt it was worthy of a little review so here goes...

After days of considering I finally went into MAC to buy the concealer.

I asked a shop assistant to match me up so I knew I couldn't go wrong. She sat me down and tested a few colours on me. It turns out that I am NW15. I expected this because I'm just so pale.

My auntie also got colour matched and purchased the concealer. When I got home I tried and tested and I have come to the verdict that ... I LOVE IT!!

My auntie however got home, tried and tested, and found it was too dark :o Obviously she could not return a used products and so that was annoying for her however I feel the opposite.

    Pros:

    • Lightweight
    • Cream-Powder formula (I feel)
    • Opaque
    • Works well on normal-oily skin (me)
    • Lasts forever
    • You don't need much on your brush/finger

    Cons:

    • Rather expensive (£14.50) however the staying power and long lasting products makes up for the price

Thats all the cons I have to be honest. Here are some pictures for you to see...
Product (closed) permanent collection black packaging

Product (Open) With swatch (Sooo pigmented)

    Swatch on the skin

    Under eyes before applied

Under eyes after applied - I apply with the real techniques 'shading brush' but it can be applied with the finger however you do pick up more product that you need that way.

Okay, so that illustrates the products usage on me. Admittedly, my under eyes before the product is applied doesn't seem that bad, but in person the darkness was worse.

As you can see it leaves the skin looking fresher and enhances the makeup on your eyes as your no longer distracted by darkness or lines etc...

    Overall:

    • rating - 10/10
    • like love hate - love
    • repurchase or leave - repurchase

I hope this has helped anyone questioning whether to buy it or not.
Stay tuned for more posts each week :)
